Typical duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Performs legal secretarial and administrative functions for more than one attorney
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, current formats of legal correspondence, electronic filing procedures, legal documents, pleadings, and practices
  • Assist attorneys in managing workflow
  • Prepare and revise legal documents, electronically files pleadings
  • Maintain attorneys' diaries and calendar
  • Maintain case files or records
  • Prepare routine reports, gathering and summarizing data/information
  • Sends appropriate documents to adjusters, clients and other
  • Makes travel arrangements
  • Processing closed files and assist with other clerical duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information

Special Circumstances:

  • Periodic overtime may be required


Qualifications Required:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1 - 2 years as a legal secretary or a paralegal experience
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and courteous manner
  • Recognizes problems and develops a solution within specific guidelines
  • Able to review, record, and organize written or numeric data from a variety of sources within the prescribed format
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organization skills to manage multiple dissimilar tasks simultaneously often times in a fast-paced environment
  • Good initiative and use of independent judgment; works well with minimal general supervision
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (such as Outlook, Word) and Internet applications

Additional Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience in Workers' Compensation
